Jewellery that’s Breaking stimas
I created this line of Jewellery to help people break through all the different type of stigmas we face in our society that no one truly wants to talk about or feels comfortable enough to talk about. We as humans tend to suffer a lot in silence, hiding our emotions so others don’t see or feel what we may be experiencing. These pieces of jewellery I created are through some of my own personals and through the eyes of others are, recognizing that we are all unique and some of us may struggle just a little bit differently. It’s about trying to open up the dialogue to the uncomfortable conversation, to emotions, relationships and attachments so we can start healing ourselves and the people around us!

ARtist BioAndrea Golden (aka the freedom speaker) has been designing and creating handmade jewellery since early 2000. After graduating from jewellery college in 2003, Andrea worked in various jewellery shops until opening her own jewellery business in 2004. Since then Andrea has made jewellery for the music industry, the theatre and her most proud work has been for Disney. You can also see articles published about Andrea & her work in various magazines, major and local newspapers. Andrea has truly always wanted to try and make a genuine difference in her surroundings. As a young girl Andrea was often known as the “outspoken” one. She dreamt of the idea that one day she would be able to help others like herself in her own unique way. Especially people who struggle with mental health, as she herself suffered and struggled with her own mental health since a very young age. Over the last few years Andrea has really had a strong urge to pursue her dream of trying to give back to her community, as that little girl she never gave up on that dream. So in 2019, after almost 20 years of creating jewellery and running a successful jewellery business. Andrea decided to pursue certifications in the mental health industry to help better herself, but in turn it also helped naturally guide her into the path of peer support, where she has been able to help so many people. Andrea has made the choice to no longer live in silence and started making significant changes in her life and advocating for Mental Health all while creating beautiful pieces of art that are truly breaking the stigmas surrounding these very topics!
Here is where you can find my most up to date handmade work! Thank you so much for your support ♥️ Andrea

Every Piece I have created has come from my heart, either they are lived experiences of pure joy or experiences of true pain. I am hoping with each piece of jewellery I create you can see a story for yourself, and enjoy the piece as it speaks to you as much as it did for me, while I was creating it! Much love to each and everyone of you out there, pushing through every day! I see you!

“When I read this I was so deeply saddened, and decided that I have the ability to help make a change” Andrea
“In any given year, one in five Canadians will experience mental illness. The rest of us are their family, friends, colleagues, loved ones and neighbours.”
“Did you know that mental illness is a leading cause of disability in Canada? In any given week, at least 500,000 employed Canadians are unable to work due to mental illness. Imagine how many more are slogging through the day, struggling in silence.”
“Tragically, suicide is the second leading cause of death among Canadian youth and youth who die by suicide are frequently experiencing an undiagnosed or untreated mental illness. We need to chip away at this stigma. We need to talk about it. We need to inspire hope.”
